“(Co)Laboratory on citizenship”, was an experimental community art project based on interaction and intersection of ideas, experiences and beliefs. It aimed to amplify claims for equality and explore ways for participation in dealing with diversity and discrimination.
Six artists, Eirene Efstathiou, Sevastiana Konstaki, Malvina Panagiotidi, Theo Prodromidis, George Salameh, Urok Shirhan sharing common values, inspired by curators, anthropologists and activists, created works raising issues on the challenges of the current citizenship law in Greece. Through a collaborative process consisting of meetings and workshops with partners from Generation 2.0 and Anasa Cultural Center they explored how art could evoke social impact and strengthen participation in tackling crises, inequalities and stereotypes, and whether culture could contribute to social change, development and activation of communities.
A series of artworks inspired by actions, dealt with identity, Greekness, equality, diversity, democracy, integration, both as representations and as lived experiences of coexistence and co-creation.
